People who know my Dad's family understand where my love for music comes from. It was breed into my genes. My dad and his sisters (and cousins for that matter) can sit and talk about music for hours. They seem to know every artist and song from their era no matter how significant. Thanks to them, I can name that tune in one note!
My musical tastes are pretty wide spread. The main rule is there has to be some kind of valuable meaning. My favorite artists are ones who have takled social and political issues head on. Like Morrissey sings, the music must "say something to me about my life". So here it is, the reason you all came to this web site! My Top Five:
- U2 - Not the new pop rock crap, the old "WAR" and "October" Irish Pride music
- Morrissey (The Smiths) - Who else captured the pains of adolesence like MOZ?
- Rage Against The Machine - Zach is an American Indian and African American, off course he's pissed at the Government!
- Sublime - Okay, so a lot of what they did was covers and samples of.....
